Friendster blog from Typepad to WordPress

Di ako nakapag post nitong nakaraang araw, nagka-problem ung internet connection dito sa amin, Smart Bro, sayang.

Totoo nga ang balita na ang paborito natin online social networking site na Friendster, is now converted (or currently in the process of converting, in beta) the Friendster Blog to WordPress platform. Ang dating gamit ng Friendster Blog ay Typepad.

Below is the screenshot of my Friendster Blog na dati ko pa ginagawa.

Wordcamp Manila 2008

Nag join ako sa Wordcamp Manila 2008, nakilala ko si Junnette Abrera(dyoonet at gmail dot com)at si Francis Arellano (francis at 4×4ph dot com), enjoy naman dagdag kaalaman sa akin.  Ang isa pang masaya ay nandun si Matt Mullenweg na kanila rin tinawag na Mr. WordPress. Marami ang hindi nakarating (hindi ko alam kung bakit) at nakakahinayang dahil marami rin gusto mag-join pero hindi naka-join dahil hindi umabot sa registration quota o napag saraduhan ng registration sa event. May mga humabol at nagbaka-sakali na pumunta sa venue College of St. Benilde-La Salle kahit hindi sila nakapag register online at dahil sa kanilang kagustuhan ay naging matagumpay naman sila dahil pinayagan sila na makapasok dahil marami ang hindi nakarating na registrant. Marami rin mga raffle na pinamigay mula sa mga event sponsors. Wala ako camera kaya wala ako na i-post na  picture. Heheh. After ng event is mayron pang extra trip ang pinoy wordcampers, at iyon ay sa mag:net café in Serendra, The Fort. Hanggang sa susunod na Wordcamp Manila.

Software Freedom Day 2008 Philippines

Software Freedom Day 2008. One Nation. Unity for Software Freedom.

Software Freedom Day (SFD) is an annual celebration in more than 70 countries to propagate Free and Open Source philosophy.

In the Philippines, the Computer Professionals’ Union (CPU) has lead and organized SFD since 2004. CPU has connected a hundred volunteers, open/free software advocates and developers. CPU has introduced to hundreds of students and enthusiasts the ideals and benefits of free and open source software on this yearly event.

SFD 2008 will be celebrated on 20 September 2008. SFD is a celebration of Software Freedom. For more information visit www.sfdphil.org

Ubuntu Love Day Manila 2008

The Ubuntu Philippines Local Community Team (Ubuntu-PH), in cooperation with the University of the Philippines Diliman Department of Computer Science, invite you to a day of sharing experiences, learning, and meeting fellow enthusiasts involved in the hottest GNU/Linux distribution that hit mainstream computing – Ubuntu!

Ubuntu Love Day Manila 2008 is a grassroots effort to spread the spirit of Ubuntu. On August 23, 2008, learn and interact with fellow Ubuntu enthusiasts on how you use Ubuntu in your everyday computing needs. We invited 6 resource persons to share their experiences with Ubuntu in different areas of interest:

And the best part? Admission is free! But due to space restrictions, we are limiting this event to 70 participants. Please make sure to reserve a ticket and follow the instructions given to you upon reservation If you have reserved a ticket and for some unforeseen event you are not able to attend, please let us know so we can free up the ticket and give a chance to others who would like to attend.

Limit 2 tickets per participant, first come, first served. Tickets have no cash value as this is a free event. If someone tries to sell you one, let us know.

What:

A BarCamp is an ad-hoc unconference born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos and interaction from attendees. All attendees are encouraged to share some form of technical information, be it a software development tip, tools, product demo, open source projects, software, hardware, etc. – in seven (7) minutes!

Anyone with something to contribute or with the desire to learn is welcome and invited to join.

When you come, be prepared to share with BarCampers. When you leave, be prepared to share it with the world. Blog about what you learned, share it in a forum, or even help organize the next BarCamp!

If this is your first time to attend a BarCamp, you should read TheRulesOfBarCamp.
